Since 1991 Global Tapware, like many other companies, has undergone various changes during its life. These changes have been in company names and modification of business direction with each assisting and improving the business overall. The one constant is the same director since starting up. Global Tapware started out as a wholesaler to the plumbing retail outlet market in Queensland and Northern NSW, now it is specialist commercial tap manufacturer & wholesaler.

In 2006 an opportunity came up to take on the well known, USA made, ‘Fisher‘ brand of tapware. This lead us to diversify firstly into selling on a national basis after obtaining WELS rating and registration. Then in 2009 we obtained “Watermark – Level One” status after setting up our own manufacturing factory in Brisbane, followed by “Watermark – Level Two“.

In Mid 2009 we started manufacturing the “Global Fisher” Pre Rinses and our own range of ‘Australian Made’ “Global Q” taps, and then later in 2011 we introduced the “Global RinseMaid” & “Global EC” Pre Rinses & taps as our answer to the cheap, poor quality imported tapware.

We use a mix of quality Australian and American components in our brands, with 3⁄4 of our models carrying a higher percentage mix of Australian content allowing us to proudly call them ‘Australian Made/Australian Owned’ (Global RinseMaid, Global EC, Global Q). We do the same with the ‘Global Fisher’ Pre-Rinses, but just barely miss out on qualifying as ‘Aussie Made’.

People ask why we call it ‘Global Fisher’ and not just ‘Fisher‘. The answer is because the Fisher Tapware out of the USA is not Watermarked and nor does it comply to Australian Standards. We make modifications here in our factory so they will comply, plus we make other components here in Australia, and with the combination of all that we do we are able and entitled to market them as ‘Global Fisher’.

Our philosophy is “It’s All About The End User” as they are expecting quality and performance. So we work hard to ensure that we give those end users a high quality professional & robust product. We listen to our customers needs and refine our products to meet their specification, for example our Hanging & Café models.  And because we are local & Australian Made we can make things happen quicker and easier for all concerned.

We invest time and money in R & D to develop new innovative products such as our new “Line Retractor” range, or develop changes to the Rinse Maid brand of Pre-Rinses to compete against the cheaper / poorer quality Asian imported Pre Rinses. We are currently working 3 new product ranges and changes to some existing tapware.

We are very proud to say we have minimal issues with warranty call outs on all our products. In fact we are proud to say we operate on less than 1% warranty problems / issues with our brands, this is shown up consistently in our yearly Watermark Audits. This is a very high achievement these days. That means you can be assured you are buying & using the best product on the market.

Currently we are pushing our “Green” credentials via our high water saving features and our Stainless Steel Range as well as our mix of S/S and Chrome mix in our Global Fisher Range. We already have the most water efficient spray guns in the market with the Fisher spray gun and now we offer our new ‘Kwik Clean 3’ range. Both are Watermarked & WELS rated to 6 star, 3.5 L/pm.

For businesses that require or use R.O. (Reverse Osmosis) water we offer our full Global Stainless range of tapware and Pre-Rinses to work for you.

I feel we should offer a word of warning about installing Pre-Rinses that are not specifically made or designed and sold by an actual Australian tap manufacturer but that imported by retail and or wholesale companies.  There are two trends that are happening in the Australian market, both are from importers of finished, prepacked tapware. One trend that is happening is the selling of Domestic looking Pre-Rinses that have been dressed up or disguised to look commercial. These are at best medium commercial and do not stand up to the rigors or a genuine commercial Pre-Rinse.  The other trend is for Retailers / wholesalers to import a basic small range of products that may look commercial but are not very good performers over a longer period of say 1-3 years and parts are very hard to locate as these companies either do not bring in spare parts or do not market them on a national basis.

How does one go about telling them apart? (1) In regards to a Domestic looking Unit – If it has a Single Lever Mixer with a small Diameter Pre-Rinse Hose with a small, narrow Spring Guard then it is Domestic, even though it may fitted with a commercial Spray Valve. If it says it has a long warranty but that the warranty does not cover kinking PR Hose then be aware. A pre-Rinse when in use must be able to bend at the spray gun end because that is how they work. If the hose kinks then that is bad news as it will bust in a very short time.  (2) In regards to the commercial looking unit – If there is no  name on it then how are you able to tell what to ask for when it breaks down. These PR units are normally in a Single Hole Bench Mount configuration with the tap shaped like a ‘T’. These normally have poor quality PR Hose, Jumper Valves and swivel spouts.

How do we know all this – because we  are constantly asked to identify them and asked if we have parts.  There are only two other PR units I would say that are of good quality with reasonable back up and support….. one is in W.A. and the other is in the South Eastern Suburb of Sydney. Why should I tell you that? Because it is all about the “End User” and we are competitive with these two companies.

If you’re on the look out for a pre-rinse do not buy cheap imports as they will end up costing you more overall in the end. It is false economy. Talk with your Catering Retailer about putting our product on a payment plan.

Trust Australian Made!!!”   Why? Because anyone who goes to that much trouble believes strongly in their product and will do anything to make sure it works properly and takes it personally if there is an issue.
